The AGM-84 Harpoon is an all-weather, over-the-horizon, anti-ship missile system, developed and manufactured by McDonnell Douglas (now Boeing Defense, Space & Security). The Harpoon was originally developed as an air-launched missile for the United States Navy to serve as its basic anti-ship weapon for use against surface ships. It has been adapted for use from surface ships, submarines, and aircraft.
